If you’re not reading this series, then we have only one question for you. WHY NOT? Switch off your phone, grab some munchies and settle down. This one’s a one-sit read, and interruptions will not be appreciated. The world of the Psy is right up there with the best the genre has to offer and it’s getting better with every book. Seriously, if you love JR Ward, Lara Adrian and Jacquelyn Frank, don’t miss New Zealand author Nalini Singh.
We first met the dark emotionless and mysterious Judd Lauren in Slave to Sensation and he immediately intrigued us, but then again in this world, who didn’t? We also met Brenna Kincaid as the faceless victim of a terrible mind rape, and we have to admit, she seemed to be no more than a plot device. Now two books later we find out what happened to her and boy are we glad to learn more.
Brenna was a talented, gregarious soul until she was violated and has spent the ensuing months trapped by her fear, unable to be around others apart from Judd, the coldest, most emotionless person she has ever met. Judd’s lack of feeling has been bred into him as a leading force in the Psy’s elite assassin squad, but the closer he gets to Brenna the more his mind protests. She’s scarred and vulnerable and pretty much held prisoner by two very protective (sexy, in their own right!) older brothers, but she’s prepared to risk everything to be with him, whilst he’s trying to protect his family, keep his secrets and stay alive whilst being buffeted by new, unfamiliar thoughts and desires.
We also get to catch up with some of our favourite characters and meet a few new ones. Full of action, heat and humour, and anything else you might possibly want from a story. The best in the series so far and given that the previous two have been superb, that’s saying a lot! |
