By golly, we’re just mad about Harry and you will be
too, just like Lady Georgina Maitland. She falls for her steward, Harry Pye,
quite accidentally. Sort of notices him for the first time when they’re in a
carriage accident and he protects her by shielding her body with his very
strong, lithe masculine body, with interesting male bits she suddenly and
swooningly wants to explore. And it goes on from there. But Harry isn’t about
to be used and discarded by the nobility, just like the Leopard Prince in
Georgina’s ongoing fairy story. He resists her, until she comes to visit him at
night. Just the two of them, safely tucked away from prying eyes, all night. Even
strong, silent, green-eyed Harry’s not able to resist that – or, should we say, a naked her. Georgina’s a fantastic
heroine, brave, funny, curious and
strong. When Harry gets beaten to within an inch of his life and locked away
for a crime he didn’t do, Georgina’s like a
dragon lady. Or a leopard lady, on fire for him, unstoppable until justice has
been done. There’s so many good parts in this book – the chilling sub-plot of
the poisoned sheep and the murdered woman, the unexpected story about Harry’s
brothers, the issue of Georgina’s sister’s deflowerment – but the best part is
the romance between Harry and Georgina. Sheer,
swooning, naked romance. Once Harry – shall we say – ‘unsheathes’ his emotions,
there’s no stopping him. The final
scene is brilliant, absolutely brilliant, bringing together all the characters
from this book as well as The Raven
Prince. You wont want it to end.
