John Nillson’s turn. Language expert and all-round incredible SEAL who can get into anything and out of anything without disturbing anything, John’s called in when an old flame, Meg, takes a hostage in the Kazbekistan embassy. Kazbekistani Extremists have taken her daughter and grandmother prisoner, and she will do anything – including kill for them – to get them back. In this case, she has to get the Extremists’ wanted man out of the embassy and deliver him for execution. The Extremists have promised to release Meg’s family on delivery. To negotiate her way out of the embassy, Meg asks for John. There honestly seems no way out for these two. John will lose his career and be jailed if he helps her escape. Meg knows she’ll probably be killed, but she doesn’t care. She’ll gladly trade her life for that of her daughter, so nothing else matters. Desperate people do desperate things, and Meg is very desperate... The plot twists and turns with the most amazing, unexpected surprises – I read with my heart in my mouth! The ending is spectacularly dramatic. It’s a very touching love story between John and Meg, who think it impossible (and so did I!) they’ll be able to live happily ever after, given their terrifying, on-the-run situation. The grandmother’s WWII love story is also retold – equally fascinating and very tender. As for Sam and Alyssa…. Holy cow. You will never look at chocolate sauce in quite the same way. The book self-ignites on several spectacular occasions! |
