The beachcomber of the title is a hideous serial killer, picking on young girls, stalking them, abducting them, playing with them (shudder), then murdering them. Ghastly. Christy Petrino blunders into this apparent beach paradise, but she’s actually on the run from the mob. Well, she was on the run from the mob when she discovered her lying, killing ex-fiancé was up to his ears in illegal mob activities. Unfortunately ‘Uncle Vince’ suggested she would ‘just’ have to deliver a parcel for him before she could walk away. Right. As if. Scared stiff, Christy has ‘delivered’ her parcel when she realizes she’s being stalked. And a girl she stumbles across, hurt, has her throat slit before a terrified Christy gets back to her with help. It makes Christy think the mob’s put a contract out on her, and the girl was accidentally killed instead of her. Or was it the serial killer? Meanwhile the FBI get into the action, with agents Luke Rand and his trusty side-kick Gary living right next door, staking Christy out. They believe she’s part of all the illegal stuff going down. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg in Beachcomber, written in traditional Robards style with hot action and hot sex mixed with nightmare chills and, incredibly, laughter. Just lock the door before you start. The super-freak scary killer really is out there…
