More wacky reading featuring cocktail waitress Sookie Stackhouse, and her boyfriend Bill the vampire. Sookie can read minds, so Bill’s vampire master Eric lends Sookie to a nest of Dallas vampires looking for a kidnapped vampire. As Eric and his vampires recently saved Sookie’s life, she’s willing to assist. Turns out the Dallas kidnap perpetrators are a cultish Fellowship, dead keen to force all vampires to ‘meet the dawn’. That is, die a nasty flaming death. Or any other death; they’re not fussy. Along with flushing out kidnappers, Sookie also tries to discover who murdered a flagrantly gay fellow employee, Lafayette. And what with Eric getting a bit sexual with Sookie, Bill getting jealous, Lafayette’s murderers getting seriously kooky, a mad maenad on the loose, the Fellowship going berserk, and shapeshifters making things very interesting, this leads to some serious fun and games. Written with tongue firmly in cheek, and sensuality plus:
