Nina is forty, newly divorced, and lonesome. She adopts a dog from the pound, looking for something warm and perky to cheer her up. She gets Fred instead, part beagle, part depressive, part lead-ass, as Nina describes him. Okay, so while Fred’s settling in, she also meets her neighbour Alex, a young, gorgeous, apparently aimless man who sets her previously sleeping body tingling. Her best friend Charity urges her to have a flaming affair with him, but Nina is horrified at the thought of baring her forty year old body to anyone, let alone someone as gorgeous (and young) as Alex. Thirty year old ER doctor Alex falls for Nina, big time, but is terrified to make a move in case she’ll never talk to him again. His older brother Max can’t believe Alex is hesitating, and the advice shooting back and forth between the brothers (usually over a six-pack) is hilarious. In fact, this whole book is a hoot. Full of comic, wonderful one-liners, doggy fun and silly situations, this is the perfect pick me up for the blues, anytime. Highly recommended, feel good romance. REISSUE |
