Those of you who laughed through Visions of Sugar Plums and lurved the mysterious sexy Diesel – he of the ‘unmentionable’ skills – he’s baaaack! This time in some crazy quest to help Stephanie sort out some Valentine’s Day disasters, then they can bring in the ‘relationship expert’ bail bond called Annie (also wanted for armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon) who’s supposed to matchmaker these people before Valentine’s Day, then… oh, forget it. Too crazy to explain! Suffice to say, Stephanie and Diesel are about the world’s worst romantic sorter-outers. Diesel’s just got sex on the brain, preferably with Stephanie, and the one-liners just keep rolling. Gotta enjoy that. Stephanie, on the other hand, blunders through with good heart (as usual) and surprisingly she and Diesel do manage to strike it lucky with some of their romantic matchmaking. The best one, though, is our favourite loser Kloughn, hapless lawyer and Stephanie’s sister’s lover. He truly wants to marry Valerie, truly does, but he’s so phobic when anyone even mentions marriage, he can’t cope. His shenanigans alone are worth the price of the book. Go on, laugh yourself silly. ‘How’s the law business?’ I asked him.
‘It’s good. I even have a couple of clients. Okay, one eventually died, but that happens sometimes, right?’
‘And how’s the new house?’
‘It’s working out real good. It’s a lot better than being with my mother.’
‘And what about getting married?’
