The scandal began with The Lost Duke of Wyndham continues in this saucy romance from one of our favourites authors. Amelia Willoughby has been engaged to the Duke of Wyndham for as long as she can remember. Literally. A mere six months old when the contracts were signed, she has spent the rest of her life waiting. And waiting. And waiting for Thomas Cavendish, the oh-so-lofty duke, to finally get around to marrying her. But as she watches him from afar, she has a sneaking suspicion that he never thinks about her at all.
It's true. He doesn't. Thomas rather likes having a fiancée - all the better to keep the husband-hunters at bay and he does intend to marry her eventually. "No," she said, before she could think the better of it.

"No, thank you, I should say." And she smiled prettily, because she did like to be polite.
He looked stunned. "You don't wish to dance?"
"Not tonight, I don't think, no." Amelia stole a glance at her sister and Grace. They looked aghast.
Amelia felt wonderful.
…And then, because she had no idea when she might feel so reckless again, she smiled up at her future husband and said, "But you should dance, if you wish it. I'm sure there are many ladies who would be happy to partner you."
"But I wish to dance with you," he ground out.
"Perhaps another time," Amelia said. She gave him her sunniest smile. "Ta!"
